I just had the most uncomfortable fly-down moment. I went to the medic on the lot to take a look at the massive bug bite on my ankle. I sat down on the plastic paper-covered-chair and lifted my leg. I looked down just in time to notice that my fly was down. I quickly zipped it up and said something to the effect of "whoops"! It's one thing to find your fly unzipped when you're sitting or standing across someone. But when you're sitting down and they are standing right next to you, right over you...well, it's not the most comforting feeling. It was sooo awkward. Andrew said to me, "I thought that never happened to girls." Well, what does he think? That we just pull our pants over our asses to go to the bathroom? We unbutton and unzip just like any other guy. And when I pull up my pants, I button and then zip. Is that how most people do it? It must be...that's why you've got a bunch of jack asses like me running around with their fly undone. I think I'll take a survey...
Andrew - buttons then zips
Ed - buttons then zips
Alegre - buttons then zips
Rich - buttons then zips (sometimes both he says, but I don't necessarily believe him)
Skye - buttons then zips
Brigid - buttons then zips
Mary - buttons then zips
Anna - buttons then zips
Elena - buttons then zips
Marla - buttons then zips
I'm determined to find someone who does it the other way around...
Braden - buttons then zips (he says because zippering first means commiting to where on your waist your pants will sit....hahahaha)
Kevin - buttons then zips
Jessica - buttons then zips
Brandee - buttons then zips (but says depends on the pants: jeans & chords - b then z, slacks & suits - z then b)
Diane - buttons then zips
Sara - buttons then zips
Rick - buttons then zips
So, I have yet to find someone who is completely committed to zipping first. There are a few half-asses who claim to do both, but I don't know how much I believe them. Stay tuned...the survey shall continue.
3 hours later...
Oh shit. I think I found someone...Angela buttons then zips....BUT...
Kim zips then buttons.
!!!
I can't believe it...someone who actually does it that way! Her response: "i can't believe u asked that, i always wonder about that, like how could your fly be down, i thought everyone knew u always zip first, duh..."
Are we all idiots then?
We danced on a bar and Suz fell off.
I ate pizza.
Annie and I kissed.
I ate pizza.
Suz ordered tripe.
I ate pizza.
Mel and I compared our drunken left-handed writing.
I ate pizza.
We raced a bus...on foot.
I ate pizza.
The weather left me sweating like a mofo.
I ate pizza.
Good times in New York. Good times.
My nephew is so cute. Zachary George Gamo Gray. Yesterday was his 13th birthday. Wow. I can't believe he's 13. He's growing up so fast. He's a teenager. Whoa. He's taller than me and now wears a size 9½ shoe. Over the last few weeks we kept asking him what he wanted for his birthday and all he kept replying with was a table full of food. Now...he had a specific list for this table full of food, but still...that's all he wanted. Food! The kid never gets full. He can eat and eat and eat and he just won't be stuffed. Then, just last week, he changed his mind. He told my sister that he wanted to go to a steak house and then come home to a table full of food. Aha! So that's what she planned for. They would go somewhere like The Chart House, eat, then come home and eat more. Sounded good. Then the night before his birthday she asked him one more time..."What do you want for your birthday?" And he says, "I want a family dinner." Aaaw! That's sooo sweet! But...does he know us? We don't ever eat together. Not even when we all live under the same roof! I mean, I guess that's why he would ask for such a thing. Man...that kid...he is something else...he's a gem in this bag-of-rocks family of ours. He's such a great kid. I love him to death. So there we sat last night...my sister's mom, my other sister's dad, my other other sister, her boyfriend, my niece, me and my nephew Zach...and we ate...pizza, tacos, macaroni and cheese, ramen, chicken nuggets...we wouldn't do it for anybody else or in any other way. Happy Birthday Zach.
FINALLY!
Last week I made a not so brilliant bet with myself to see if I can drink every night until the 4th of July. Right. It's 10:25am and after 14 nights of drinking my head is pounding like the inside of some rave. Shit. One more night. I can do this. Then I'm on hiatus from drinking (okay, I know, it will be a short one as I will be in NY next weekend). I don't know how alcoholics do it. My body/liver just can't handle this. I need some breathing time...breathe in. Hold. Breathe out. Well that did the trick...it's Day 15. Who wants another drink?? :-D
